Trae Turner

Hip-Hop, You’re the Love of My Life
                              –  Black Thought, The Roots

Trae Turner is talented, determined and ambitious. “I am working towards becoming the most sought-after choreographer and dancer in the Chicago-land area,” claims a passionate TraeBeyond the performance and choreography accolades, Trae Turner is motivated to start his own hip-hop dance school along with a summer hip-hop camp for kids. “I hope to share my love for hip-hop and train my future students in the various elements including: Breaking, DJing and Emceeing.”

Trae’s passion for hip-hop culture and dance began at the early age of nine when he began breaking with the J-Town Breakers. During elementary school and high school, Trae choreographed routines and taught dance teams that won local talents shows.

“Growing up in the inner city, I didn’t have access to hip-hop classes or instructors. My training came directly from my life experiences,” Trae humbly states. The results were a developed street dance style that is unfiltered, expressive, and quite versatile!

As an adult, Trae has refined his technique and further developed his style by attending local and nationwide master classes/workshops with successful, commercially driven choreographers such as: Havoc, Dante, Sky Hoffman and Wade Robson.

In addition to choreographing and performing, Trae has dedicated ample time in sharpening his teaching skills. Over the last four years, he has taught all age groups throughout the Chicago-land area and the surrounding suburbs. Mr. Turner has respectively become an effective and well-known teacher in Chicago’s dance community.

Trae’s powerful style and charisma coupled with his sharpness and attention to detail are unparalleled. He is one of the few choreographers that strategically combines commercial choreography with raw, original Hip-Hop movements. What truly defines me, is my dedication to all the aspects of the art and my utmost respect for Hip-Hop culture,” finishes the thoughtful Trae.
