"You are what you eat" - in this case- colorful!
When I prepare my plates, I make sure I prepare my meals with one thing in mind: It has to taste delicious! I rarely eat out, not because I don't like visiting beautiful restaurants, no, I like cooking!
I shop at places that have a great selection in organic fruits and vegetables, and I like to support family businesses like small grocery stores with produce from local farmers.
One of my motto is: "Aim for protein sources low in saturated fat and processed carbohydrates and rich in many nutrients."
Before you start packing in more protein, there are a few things to consider. For one, don't read "get more protein" as "eat more meat". Beef, poultry and pork ( as well as milk, cheese, and eggs) can certainly provide high-quality protein, - but so many plant foods - including whole grains, beans and other legumes, nuts and vegetables.
There is knowledge and then there is the application of knowledge. The mass majority of people are not interested in knowledge, they are interested in entertainment. Why is that?
"Word is Bond" or is it not?
As I am writing this, I am asking myself: "What do you think of people that say one thing, but do another?" Haven't we all done this at some point to various degrees? I am sure we have.
But when does this behavior become damaging to others? In business it is difficult to deal with people that don't come through, in our personal life we call them liars, because they say one thing and do another, and in relationships our hearts are broken if someone says: "I love you" and doesn't mean it, and in politics it affects the masses and this behaviour can start an entire war. I personally have experienced this kind of behavior on all levels, in friendships, in relationships and in business and I find it "heart breaking" on all levels. I know, we can't change people, or teach them ethics or make them understand how important it is to keep your word, but what we can do is walk away from those kind of people; and I have done this more than once and continue to do it if those people manifest in my reality, because on a business level it is very obvious what kind of damage this can cause, but on a personal level, it doesn't built great friendships and in romantic relationships it is impossible. I can call myself very lucky because I have the best partner I can wish for, and my close friendships are a very selective few and those I call my "Best Treasures" and in business, I just let people go that are not sincere or flat out lie to gain a profit. With this in mind my friends, make wise decisions!
Health = Wealth
I always find myself the happiest, when I feel good! It doesn't matter what goes on in your life, your body, mind and spirit needs to be in alignment in order to do anything successfully.
One of the most immediate experiences we have daily is: "How do I feel today?" If your body aches and your are in pain, nothing really matters. If you are sick, you can't possibly enjoy life, no matter how big your bank account is. It all comes down to health - that's why I say: Health = Wealth!
I started juicing and it litteraly became one of my favorite things to do! Every day I juice different combinations: kale, melon, blueberries and kiwi or spinach, beets, carrots and apples or this morning I started out with: beets, grapefruit and kiwi. You can get as creative as you like.
The benefits of juicing are many, but in my case I have noticed that I have more energy, I feel stronger, my yoga practice became easier, my dance routines lighter, my skin more vibrant, a definite weight loss and my overall being shifted from feeling good, to feeling great. I still eat solid meals, but juicing has taken over all my snacks and my shopping trips to Nature's Best have increased.
With this in mind! Enjoy your day and remember: Health = Wealth
"Every day I go out into this beautiful Life that we live and I share it with everyone I meet."
